Another Client Rave!

We just finished another baby plan! This time our newest graduate is Tegan! What a doll. As a Kansas City baby photographer, we love to see our baby clients grow and change. It is a little bittersweet. We miss them when they’re gone. But lucky for us so may of our clients come back for child portraits!

We took some time to sit down and chat with Tegan’s mom, Tarah and ask her some questions about what her experience was like being a part of the Glow Imagery First-Year Baby Portrait Plan. Boy… did she have a lot to say!

Molly and Amanda – a mother and baby Kansas City photographer session

Does playing with your baby, getting as many coos, giggles and kisses with your child while a photographer creates beautiful images of the moments and expressions sound like a terrible waste of time? If so, then please scoot along… if that does sound like fun, then do we have an idea for you!

One of our favorite sessions to do is the Mommy and Me session. This is so much fun! We offer these through select baby plans and for moms that want to participate in our first-year baby plan but their baby is older than three months. We will replace the three-month session with a Mommy and Me session.

The session pretty much describes itself. We arrange a time to focus on portraits of mom and her baby. Just be prepared for some serious fun… of all the sessions we do this may be the one with the most giggles and nuzzles. Think of it as a play date with you and your baby. We’ll even let you in on a little secret: we think the babies love it too!

Enter Amanda and Molly, Amanda is a bride of ours from 2009 (her wedding was one week before Chris and Gen’s in fact.) Molly is Amanda and her husband Evan’s first baby. We love earning such trust and loyalty from our clients. There’s just no other thrill like touching someone’s heart with your hard work and dedication in such a way that they are ready to trust you with more of their life’s most important moments and images. (sniff, sniff.) Enough about us, let’s enjoy the images, shall we?

Molly – Kansas City newborn photography

This little girl is sent from heaven
Into the arms of Amanda and Evan

Her birthday was right around Groundhog Day
She’s the best mid-Winter gift by far and away.

She’s so beautiful with her fuzzy blonde hair
She slept so well we couldn’t help but stare.

Baby photography is a blast, by golly
especially when it is one as sweet as little Molly.

The 9 Month Preparation to Becoming A Parent

Nothing is more natural than having a child. However, for first time moms and dads, the road to parenthood is filled with bumps and wild curves. Ideas that never before entered the minds of the parents-to-be now take precedence. You only have nine months to make the decisions that will profoundly affect your family.

Insuring the Future

Insurance is a must have for everyone. No one is more in need of insurance than those who are awaiting the arrival of a new bundle of joy.

  • Life Insurance
  • Auto Insurance
  • Health Insurance
  • Supplemental Insurance

Life Insurance

Expectant parents spend a great deal of time planning the nursery and picking out baby names. Though these items are very important, they should not be the sole focus of baby planning. Couples without dependents seldom consider the impact a life insurance policy can make. Both parents should seek out life insurance quotes to protect those they love the most should the worst possible scenario arise.

Life insurance is vital for both parents whether they are both working or if one decides to become a full-time caregiver to the child. Most experts agree that the spouse who is working or who makes the largest income be insured for about $3 million but these are the experts. How much life insurance to buy is becoming more complicated these days. A stay at home parent should still be insured, but a $1 million policy should suffice. Currently, about 30 percent of families in the U.S. do not have life insurance, which equates to 11 million households that are without a safety net.

Auto Insurance

Most couples do not consider their need for a family vehicle prior to becoming pregnant. Once the stork makes a visit to the home, however, the sporty speedster often gets traded in for an SUV. Picking the safest car for your new bundle is practically a no-brainer, but the best auto insurance should not go overlooked either. Full coverage auto insurance practically guarantees less stress. In case of accident, theft, or malfunction, the right auto insurance policy can make a true difference.

Joining an auto club is an option that many new parents should at least consider. Adding a 24 hour tow service, a security system, roadside assistance, or even a feature that aids when you lock your keys in your car can feel like a lifesaver.

Health Insurance

Changing health insurance providers during a pregnancy is generally a bad idea. Living through a pregnancy and all of the related doctor’s visits, tests, and procedures can open your eyes to the details of your existing policy in a way that you may have never seen before. If you find yourself unhappy with the benefits you are receiving, you can begin shopping for a new health insurance policy and can get quotes before baby arrives.

Many employers offer health insurance as a benefit. If you are on an employer based plan but are unhappy with your coverage, speak to your company’s human resources personnel to learn if there are any upgrades or alternatives available. You might also consider adding a supplemental policy.

Supplemental Insurance

Supplemental insurance comes in all shapes and sizes. You may find that you need to supplement your employer provided health or life insurance policy. Another type of supplemental insurance covers regular earnings that are lost due to illness or accident. New parents should discuss these types of policies to find if they are needed in their particular situation.

The nine months it takes to have the baby goes by very quickly. It can seem overwhelming to have so many items to research and decisions to make. Along with insurance policies, couples must consider such vital items as estate planning, planning a will and trust, and establishing a college savings plan, not to mention the day-to-day necessities of daycare providers and the best educational toys. What is most important to remember is the safety and security of your family. If you take that into consideration, and use your nine months to make the best decisions possible, you will start your child off on the right track before he or she steps foot into this world.

Colton turns One!

Let me tell you about this little guy…
He’s the sultan of smiles
He’s cuter than puppies eating pie.
He never gave us any tribulations or trials.

Colton always wanted to have fun
Giving us adorable images
When it was all said and done.

Your graduation makes us sad.
We loved working with you, your mom and dad.

Seeing you every three months has been a treat.
Because you and your family are so sweet.

Be good, grow strong and have fun.
Give kisses and hugs more than a ton!

Emily Turns One!

This little girl was ready to pounce
She’s our latest graduate we are proud to announce! That little cupcake didn’t stand a chance
When it caught little Emily’s glance.

She posed with a sailboat and with a horse
A little shy and afraid to smile, of course!

But shyness simply takes a little time
to capture her smile… how sublime!

Emily is one now, her baby plan all done
She made us smile a ton!

If we are lucky we’ll see her again.
We can’t tell you how much fun it has been!

Emerson at three months

Emerson, Emerson, Emerson
Your eyes as pretty as a setting sun

You gave the camera the most skeptical glance
The smiles will come, give it a chance.

Your mommy and daddy love you so
More than you will ever know.

We made prints and brag books, they are all so tender
Even with your bare butt as the brag book ender.

These are your portraits from month three
Wait until month six, by golly gee!

Shiloh is Six Months Old

The smiles come in endless supplies
When we see your beautiful blue eyes!

Your six month portraits are all done.
They were so much fun!

It was rubber duckies, fluffy bears
You gave us such adorable stares!

You’d think something gave you a sting
After we put on the pink headband thing

Because you cried, cried, cried
until that thing was cast aside.

It’s hard being gorgeous
Can you be more cute? That’s hopeless
